Thanksgiving is my favorite Holiday. Thanksgiving is simple. There is little to no consumerism. It is simply about people getting together and sharing a meal. There are no gifts involved, or cookie making, or card giving. Other holidays have been perverted by our greed and by commercialism. Thanksgiving encourages people to reflect on their life. Something that we don't do often enough. It is also the beginning of wrapping up the end of the year. And with that comes thinking about the next year. We start to re-envision our goals and dreams and desires. A lot of the things that happen on Thanksgiving represents love.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Last night I saw a car accident. Everyone stopped and got out of their car. I didn't actually see the collision. I only saw the headlights of both cars. I decided not to stop because there was at least 5 vehicles that had stopped before me. Two hours later on my way back to my house the road was blocked off and the cars were still there. They were doing the investigation. When I first saw the accident had happened and then again when I saw the police doing the investigation; it sent chills down my spine and I got teary-eyed. Since Meghan got into the car accident in January, car accidents have affected me differently. (For those of you who don't know my sister Meghan got into a really bad car accident and she should be dead. But she got away with only a few injuries) When I see one I go back to that night and I relive the whole thing all over. It's Hell. But I cannot deny the fact that the car accident made me truly appreciate my sister and other people around me. It's affected my love for people and the relationships I have with them. It will affect every future relationship I form. When I see bad car accidents or even think about my sister's car accident I praise God she is alive and nothing permanent happened. So on this Thanksgiving, I am thankful to God that my sister is alive. I am thankful it changed me. I am thankful that it has taken the 20 years of turmoil Meghan and I had against with each other and threw that to the flames to burn. I have to be honest this year has been crap and my "positive attitude" burnt out in April. And I'm glad 2009 is almost over. But, I can say that I am so thankful and so much better off because of everything that has happened.

When life tells me no and I want to tell it to fuck off. I come up with Ideas in my head on how to tell it to fuck off. Here are my recent fuck-off-life schemes:
1. Pierce My Lip
2. Get a Job in another state (any state) teaching tennis
3. Go with my original major; professional tennis management
4. Get a kitten
5. Get any job in any state
6. Drop out of college and become a stunt driver for movies
Which one do you think I should choose? I'm a fan of #1 in particular.

Thoughts on Harry Potter (I won't give anything away):
I went to see the new movie last night. I have yet to read the half blood prince and so I wasn't really sure about what was going to happen. There was a few lines about light and dark that I found interesting. They stated that light is what gets rid of darkness. After those lines I was more keyed into the battle between light and dark. Lord Voldemort and his crew being the dark and Harry with his crew being the light. I thought they displayed the difference between light and dark very well it was almost creepy how well it was. Also the whole movie was dark and dreary in general. The tone of the characters were dark the sky was always dark in the movie and the colors of the movie were just very dull for the most part. They kept talking about how everyone was fearing Lord Voldemort. The fear was taking over their lives. It was almost morbidly depressing. I thought it was stunningly similar to our lives today. We are in a recession, our unemployment is at an all time high, our troops are still going over to Iraq and Afghanistan, our families are terrified that we'll lose our homes, jobs and cars, our lives are coming to a dead halt after years of bliss. Today we are living in fear. We have our own voldemorts to deal with. I was watching that movie and couldn't help but feeling like it was an obvious parallel to our lives today.

Update on my life:
-I moved into a house with a family and several thousand mosquitos. I live out in BFE. I never thought I would live in BFE before the age of 40. But it's ok. It's better than where I was living before.
- I started work this week. I really like teaching tennis and the people who I work with.
- I have seen Dane Cook Live!
- I went to California and had a fabulous fucking time!
- I rode on a motorcycle
- I play ping-pong almost on a daily basis

The other day I went to meijer and when I was coming back out I saw a guy push his cart into the cart corral. Instead of making sure of it actually going in he just gave it a big push and it missed the cart corral. Instead it was rolling away and down the parking lot. I thought it was just going to run into a curb at worst and not hit any car because it wasn't heading to any cars. Then it all of sudden took almost a u-turn and started straight towards my car. I freaked out and started running after it even though I was all the way across the parking lot. I was probably about 30 ft. or so behind it and the cart was about 5ish ft away from hitting my car. Then all of a sudden a guy runs out from no where (not the guy who pushed the cart in the first place) and grabs the cart from hitting my car. Awesome! I said thank you and took the cart and actually put it away. This is one of those things that give me faith in people. I know it sounds dumb but the guy didn't see me before he grabbed the cart. He just ran to it so it didn't hit anyone's car. I really like catching people doing good things when no one else is watching. Even if it is just stopping a cart from dinging a car.
